    How This Project Started

    bestcuphalffull_edited_edited.jpg

This website was set up initially to collect anecdotes (both positive and negative) for discussion at a Gordon Research Conference during the GRC 'Power Hour  ' in March 2020: https://www.grc.org/neuroelectronic-interfaces-conference/2020/ .

Collected anecdotes were to be compiled and discussed during the GRC Power Hour   to identify common problems and actionable solutions as well as venues for further dissemination.

Unfortunately, the conference has been postponed due to Covid-19. In the mean time, we are now working to compile a summary of our findings for submission to a special issue of planned conference presentations to be published as manuscripts in the Journal of Neural Engineering. We will also submit our findings at the 2021 Society for Neuroscience meeting and write up summary results for funding agencies and additional journal editors.

With the additional work stress and changes caused by the pandemic as well as the more up-front conversations about race now taking place in people's labs, please consider submitting additional anecdotes as well as helpful ideas for improving the lives of women and underrepresented minorities in STEM.

The world will be better when all voices are heard!
